habit and habitat--Sesbania herbacea is a rather large annual that prefers to live along rivers and streams leaf--what leaf complexity is present here?
fruits (legumes)--compare these fruits with the fruits of Sesbania drummondii (they are very different looking) legumes closeup--can you see the individual seeds?

flowers in late Spring--which subfamily of Fabaceae does this species belong to?  Mimosoideae, Caesalpinioideae, or Papilionoideae?  How do you know? flowers from the side--an inflorescence such as this, where the flowers are all attached by a pedicel to the same rachis, is called a raceme
