UTEX presents intensive 2-day
workshops for individuals interested in learning principles and practices of
growing and managing algal cultures. Many topics are
relevant for those who are
interested in commercialization of algae.
The workshops feature presentations and demonstrations, as well as hands-on
activities. Workshops are informal and participants are encouraged to ask
questions, share information with the group, and network.
UTEX Managing Microalgal Cultures Workshop:
This workshop is designed to enhance the knowledge of those who are already
familiar with algae, provide an introduction to algal culture management for
those with no prior experience, and also serve as a precursor to the UT-STF
Workshop. Topics are geared toward individuals who are interested in
learning principles and practices of growing and managing algal cultures.

ASU's Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation (AzCATI)
and UTEX,
through the Algae Testbed Public-Private-Partnership (ATP3), now offer
comprehensive workshops on the cultivation of microalgae, strain selection,
pilot-scale culture management, harvesting and processing technologies, and
the analysis of oil and co-product contents.
ATP3 Principles and Processes Workshop: Algae
Culture Maintenance, Production and Downstream Processing:
This workshop covers the fundamentals of managing microalgae
cultures, culturing techniques, measuring biomass, high-value natural
products, harvesting and processing technologies, as well as life cycle
analysis and operation at the commercial scale. Topics presented are relevant
to those interested in obtaining a broad overview on the biology, growth and
commercialization of microalgae.
